LumiWed is a multilingual wedding website platform for couples planning a wedding and for guests visiting those wedding websites. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

The Data We Collect

We collect different categories of information depending on how you use LumiWed.

If you join the waitlist or contact us

  • Your first name
  • Your last name
  • Your email address
  • Any message you choose to send us through the contact form

If you create or manage a LumiWed account

  • Account details such as your name, email address, and authentication identifiers
  • Wedding details you enter, such as your story, event schedule, venue information, languages, and theme choices
  • Billing and subscription information needed to process payments and manage invoices

If you are invited as a guest

  • Your name and contact information provided by the couple
  • Your RSVP status and any information you choose to submit, such as dietary preferences or plus-one details
  • Language preferences and guest access tokens that let you view the wedding site without creating an account

Technical information

  • Browser, device, IP address, and usage logs needed for security, diagnostics, analytics, and abuse prevention

How We Use Personal Data

We use personal data to:

  • Provide and operate LumiWed
  • Create, host, and translate wedding websites
  • Deliver invitations, RSVP flows, and guest access links
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Respond to support requests and waitlist signups
  • Detect misuse, secure our systems, and troubleshoot issues
  • Improve the product through aggregated analytics and operational insights

Where applicable under laws such as the GDPR, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract when we provide LumiWed to couples and their guests
  • Legitimate interests in running, protecting, and improving the service
  • Consent where you voluntarily submit marketing, waitlist, or optional information
  • Compliance with legal obligations such as accounting or fraud prevention requirements

Sharing Personal Data

We do not sell personal data. We share data only when necessary to run LumiWed, including with service providers that help us operate the platform, such as hosting, authentication, analytics, email delivery, payments, error monitoring, and CRM tools.

We may also share information:

  • When required by law or valid legal process
  • To protect LumiWed, our users, or the public from fraud, abuse, or security threats
  • As part of a merger, acquisition, or similar business transfer if the privacy commitments in this policy continue to apply

Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy.

  • Waitlist and contact submissions are kept until they are no longer relevant for product launch communication or support follow-up
  • Wedding content and guest data are retained while a couple’s site is active and for the post-event retention period described in the product plan
  • Billing and transactional records may be retained longer when required for tax, accounting, or fraud prevention purposes

International Transfers

Some service providers may process data outside your country of residence. Where required, we use appropriate contractual or technical safeguards for those transfers.

Your Rights
