Why we built LumiWed
Living in Amsterdam, we’ve been lucky to attend dozens of weddings from friends who come from every corner of the world. Italian-Iranian couples. Korean-Dutch families. Uruguayan-American love stories. Each celebration was beautiful — and each one came with the same quiet struggle.
We watched a bride spend weeks rewriting her wedding website in three languages, copying text between Google Translate tabs and hoping the tone still felt right. We saw a groom give up trying to explain Dutch wedding traditions to his Korean in-laws, because the cultural nuance just didn’t survive a literal translation. We heard from a couple who sent different links to different sides of the family — one in Spanish, one in English — and then had to manually merge the RSVPs.

Yes. We use Supabase PostgreSQL with Row Level Security, Clerk for authentication, and all data is encrypted in transit. Your wedding data is fully isolated and only accessible by you.
